Summary: Assessment is the fundamental step of the nursing process and the basis to ensure that the wellness of the patient has improved. Thus, every nurse must ensure an accurate assessment in order for it to become dependable and reliable. The aim of this study is to identify the certain factor that affects the poor performance of nursing students in assessing patients in the clinical area in order for them to improve it. Researcher used the descriptive method as the research design and stratified random sampling technique in order to come up into a result that will suffice the readers. Intrapersonal factor ranked first among the factors that affect the clinical assessment of the nursing students of Araullo University with a weighted mean of 4.65. The factor that affects the most is intrapersonal factor mainly because of the individual's indifference. Future researchers can add other factors that might have a great influence in the assessment of clients in the clinical area.
